What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser, which are sent back to the server on every visit. Local storage is a similar space in the browser that the site can read, but which is not sent to the server on its own.
What the site needs to run uses local storage; the only cookies are the analytics ones, which are optional. The law does not distinguish between the two: anything not essential needs your prior permission, and that is how we apply it.
What this site stores in your browser
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Needs your permission? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| kvsg-consent | Local storage · first-party | Remembers your cookie choice and when you made it, so we don't ask again | Until you change your choice or clear your browser data | No · essential |
| kvsg-attribution | Local storage · first-party | Remembers which campaign, ad or site brought you, so we know which channels bring us clients | 90 days from your first visit | Yes · "Visit source" |
| _clck, _clsk | Cookie · Microsoft Clarity | Anonymously recognises the pages of one visit and the visits of one browser | _clck: 1 year · _clsk: 1 day | Yes · "Analytics" |
| MUID, CLID and others on clarity.ms | Third-party cookie · Microsoft | The same, on Microsoft's servers | Up to 1 year | Yes · "Analytics" |
None of them contains your name, email or anything else that identifies you.
What "Visit source" records
If you allow it, the site remembers in your browser:
- The page you arrived on, and the website you came from if you arrived from another site.
- The campaign parameters in the address (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content).
- The click identifiers that Google Ads (gclid), Meta (fbclid) or Microsoft Ads (msclkid) add to the address.
This information is not sent anywhere while you browse. It reaches KVSG only if you send the quote request form, together with your request, and we do not share it with Google, Meta or Microsoft.
If you don't allow it, the site stores none of this. If you withdraw permission later, what was stored is erased at that moment.
What "Analytics" measures
If you allow it, Microsoft Clarity records how the site is used: the pages you visit, where you click, how far you scroll, your device and browser type, and your approximate country or city. That shows us which parts of the site work and which confuse people.
Clarity hides what you type in forms: it does not receive your name, email or message. We don't use it for advertising or profiling. The data is stored on Microsoft servers in the United States and handled under Microsoft's privacy statement.
If you don't allow it, Clarity does not load. If you withdraw permission later, measurement stops at that moment and its cookies are erased.
What this site does not use
- Other analytics tools (Google Analytics, Hotjar or others).
- Advertising pixels or tags (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok).
- Embedded social media or YouTube buttons, videos or content.
- Fonts or libraries loaded from third-party servers: everything is served from our own domain, except the analytics you allow.
- Techniques that recognise your device without storage (browser fingerprinting).
How to accept, reject or change your choice
On your first visit a notice lets you accept all, reject all or choose what to allow. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, nothing is pre-ticked, and nothing optional is stored until you decide. The site works the same either way.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link at the foot of every page, or here:
You can also clear this data in your browser settings (under privacy, "Site data" or "Storage"). If you do, the notice will appear again on your next visit.
If we add new tools
Before adding any other tool that stores data in your browser, we will update this policy and ask for your choice again, as we did when we added Microsoft Clarity. Nothing new will be switched on without your permission.
For any question about this policy, email info@videoscopiaindustrial.com. How we handle the data you send us is explained in the Privacy policy.
